Memorial Benches Available at American Headstones Company
American Headstones offers 3 different granite memorial benches. Each bench can be customized with words of endearment, names, clip art and even porcelain memorial cameo photos. Please contact your cemetery to make sure they will allow a bench to be installed at your desired location. When you speak with your cemetery you may also want to inquire about their installation fee of the bench. Below are our 3 different types of benches along with the sizes.
When visiting a loved one at a cemetery often times a place to sit and reflect is a sought after experience. A great solution to this is a memorial bench placed close to your loved ones memorial headstone. Here at American Headstones we offers 3 different granite memorial benches. For the most part all benches are special order as very few cemeteries here in Orange County, Los Angeles, and San Diego still allow them.
Granite Memorial Bench Types
American Headstones company offers 3 different types of granite memorial benches:
- Curved
- Traditional
- Pedestal
Other than the shape, Curved and Traditional benches are the same. The Traditional granite memorial bench is recommended if you intend to have something engraved on one of the side faces of granite as the curved shape tends to lead to a non-uniform depth of engraving. The Pedestal bench has cut outs in the base for cremains to be placed in and will need to be authorized by the cemetery that they allow this to be done.

Granite Memorial Bench Colors:
We can currently special order any of the standard granite colors we offer for a granite memorial bench. Even though all colors are available it is not always a good idea to choose every color. Darker colors will become increasing hotter if the memorial bench is in the sun. Light grey, although still hot after being in the sun, is by far the coolest color to sit on.
Before purchasing a bench you will want to do the following:
- Speak with the cemetery to verify that they allow memorial benches. Just because you see them around the cemetery does not mean that they still allow them.
- Discuss with them the available locations they will allow your granite memorial bench to be.
- Talk to them about the size of memorial granite bench they will allow and which of the 3 types they will allow.
- The cemetery will be responsible for installing the bench so find out from them if they require the legs of the bench to be assembled before delivery or if they will handle assembling the legs to the bench.
- Speak with the cemetery about the fee associated with them pouring a concrete pad for the bench to be installed onto along with the overall installation fee they will charge you so you have a complete understanding of all costs associated with this.
The granite memorial benches can be shipped to the cemetery either in 3 pieces or fully assembled. It is recommended to ship them in 3 pieces as it is less likely to be damaged during transportation.
